7 Easy to Install WordPress Plugins You Need Now

November 30, 2016

This is a sponsored post that contains some affiliate links. Although this post is sponsored, all opinions are my own.

With such a vast repository of WordPress plugins ready to install, it can get overwhelming. If you’re looking for a new plugin here are somethings you want to look for before installing.

  1. Does it have at least over 10,000 downloads? If it does it’s safe to say it works well enough it’s been recommended by other developers.  Plugins that have only a few hundred downloads don’t have a large enough client base to know if the plugin actually does what it advertise it does.
  2. Has it been recently updated? Look at its updated date. If it’s been a while, you might want to pass. Especially since PHP 7.0 has been released, there are a LOT of out of date plugins with depreciated functions.
  3. Review the comments/support forum. Is there a fast response time from the developer? Are there a lot of the same support questions with no resolution? Then you might want to steer clear of that plugin. There are lots of developer abandoned plugins in the repository.

Still not sure what plugins you should add to your site? Don’t worry. I complied my TOP 7 easy to install FREE WordPress Plugins.

With over 3 MILLION downloads there is no question this is an amazing plugin. Yoast SEO has been around for years and continues to be one of the best SEO plugins in the repository. It has an easy to use setup wizard that will guide you through all your options.  I recommend EVERY WordPress website have Yoast SEO installed.

But have you activated it? No?! What are you waiting for? Head over to Askismet and get your API Key.

Theme Check

It says it all in the name. It checks your Theme and makes sure it’s up to date with all the latest standards. Chances are your Free Theme might be a little behind with updates. Run this plugin to see how your theme stacks up and if it can pose any vulnerability or security issues.
